Day by day

1. Day 1 — Arrival and transfer to Kuching

   Arrive at Kuching International Airport. Clear immigration and baggage, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel in Kuching. The cat city on the Sarawak river — Chinatown shophouses, longhouse culture and semi-wild orangutans within an hour. The rest of the day is free to settle in. Overnight in Kuching.

2. Day 2 — Kuching: Semenggoh Wildlife Centre orangutan feeding

   Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Kuching — the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre orangutan feeding; the Sarawak Cultural Village at Damai; and the Kuching waterfront, the Astana and Fort Margherita. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Kuching.

3. Day 3 — Kuching: Bako National Park by boat, for proboscis monkeys and bearded pigs

   Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Kuching — Bako National Park by boat, for proboscis monkeys and bearded pigs; the Sarawak Museum and Carpenter Street in Chinatown; and a Sarawak laksa breakfast and a river sunset cruise. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Kuching.

4. Day 4 — Kuching — departure

   Breakfast at the hotel and check out. There is time for any last shopping in Kuching, where Sarawak handicrafts and pepper are sold along the waterfront streets, before your transfer to Kuching International Airport for the onward flight. The drive out passes the city's riverside and main roads. The tour ends here, and we hope it is not your last visit to Malaysia.

• A separate accompanying guide; the driver is not a licensed guide.
• Malaysia eVISA / Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) fees and travel insurance.
• Optional tours and activities not named in the programme — water sports, spa, diving courses and Sipadan permits.
• Meals other than those stated, room service, alcoholic and bottled beverages, laundry and personal expenses.
• Compulsory Gala Dinner supplements over Christmas Eve, New Year Eve, Chinese New Year and Hari Raya.
• Early check-in or late check-out unless confirmed in writing at the time of booking.
